Alpha-Gal Wise

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Applies to: the Alpha-Gal Wise™ app and alphagalwise.com, operated by WILLIAMS TECHNOLOGIES LLC.
Version: Rev E. Effective date: October 19, 2026.

This policy covers “consumer health data” under the Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada Senate Bill 370, and Connecticut law. It supplements our Privacy Policy. Consumer health data means information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present, or future health status. Because the app is about alpha-gal syndrome, simply using it could suggest you have a health condition, so we treat the data below as consumer health data.

The short version. Your triggers, scans, and saved photos stay on your device, and we don't receive them. We collect consumer health data only if you consent, we share it only with service providers (plus Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, or Open Products Facts, for photos you Share), and we never sell it.

Consumer health data we collect

We do not collect your triggers, allergens, symptoms, reactions, diagnosis, scan history, saved photos that you don't Share, or your location. We don't use geofencing. When you scan a product, the app looks up the barcode directly with Open Food Facts, which may return a record from its sister projects Open Beauty Facts or Open Products Facts. We don't receive that lookup, and we don't keep a list of products you scan.

Sources of consumer health data

We get it only from you: what you choose to send from the app (reports and shared photos), technical details the app adds when you send them (app version and platform), our hosting provider's security and delivery logs (including the IP address logged when the app checks for settings at launch), and emails you send us. We don't buy consumer health data or get it from other companies.

How we use consumer health data

We don't use it for advertising, marketing, or profiling, and we don't try to re-identify anyone from de-identified reports or photos.

Consumer health data we share, and with whom

We share consumer health data only with service providers that process it for us under contract and only on our instructions:

One exception you control: a label photo you Share, with its text and barcode, is submitted to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), Open Beauty Facts (openbeautyfacts.org) for cosmetics and personal care products, or Open Products Facts (openproductsfacts.org) for household products, all run by the same independent nonprofit in France, if it passes review. It is then public. Your per-photo Share tap is your consent to this sharing. We do not send ingredient reports to any of them automatically.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it. The app does not show ads, and we never share consumer health data with advertisers.

Saying no, or withdrawing consent, never limits any other app feature. Withdrawal stops future collection and deletes unpublished photos; it can't undo a photo already published on Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, or Open Products Facts.

How long we keep it

We do not sell consumer health data

We do not sell consumer health data, and we will not do so without your signed, written authorization as the law requires. Submitting a photo you Share to Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, or Open Products Facts involves no payment or other value.

Your rights and how to exercise them

If you live in Washington, Nevada, or Connecticut (and in some other states), you have the right to:

Fastest way: use the app. Turn off ingredient reports, or withdraw shared photos in Settings → Label photos. Deleting the app deletes the data on your device.

By email: write to support@alphagalwise.com with the subject “Health Data Request.” Tell us your state, what you want, and anything that helps us find your data (for example, the date and product of a shared photo).

How to appeal a decision

If we decline your request, in whole or in part, you can appeal. Reply to our decision, or email support@alphagalwise.com with the subject “Health Data Appeal,” within a reasonable time after our decision. We will respond in writing within 45 days, explaining what we did and why. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state Attorney General:

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Each version has its own revision label and effective date, shown at the top. If a change would let us collect, use, or share consumer health data in a new way, we'll ask for your consent first.

Sources added later will be credited here.
